What we fix

From a system that will not start to one that is simply worn out

Carolina humidity works equipment hard from May to September. Most failures we see are a capacitor, a contactor, a clogged coil, or low refrigerant from a leak — all repairable. We will tell you plainly when a repair makes sense and when it is money after bad.

What your air conditioner does before it quits

Cooling systems almost always warn you first. Catching these early is usually the difference between a part and a compressor:

Air from the vents is not cold even though the outdoor unit is running — often low refrigerant or a failing compressor.
It runs constantly and never reaches the thermostat setting on the hottest afternoons.
Short cycling — the system starts and stops every few minutes instead of holding a steady run.
Ice on the refrigerant line or the indoor coil, which points to airflow restriction or low charge.
Water pooling around the indoor unit, meaning the condensate drain is clogged.
The house feels damp at the right temperature — the system is cooling but not dehumidifying.

Turn the system off if you see ice forming; running it that way can destroy the compressor. Call us and we will get to you before the damage compounds.

What to expect

How the visit actually goes

1
Full diagnosis

We check refrigerant charge, electrical components, airflow and drainage — not just the obvious part.

2
Honest options

Repair cost, remaining life and replacement cost, side by side. No scare tactics.

3
The work

Repairs are usually same-visit. Installations are scheduled and finished cleanly.

4
Verified performance

We measure temperature split and confirm the system is genuinely performing before we leave.

How pricing works

You get a firm repair price up front. For replacements we size the system to your home properly rather than matching whatever was there, quote it in writing, and can arrange financing so a July failure does not have to be paid all at once.

Questions

Air conditioning questions we hear every week

How often should my AC be serviced?

Once a year, ideally in spring before the first hot stretch. A tune-up catches weak capacitors and low refrigerant while they are still cheap, and a clean coil measurably lowers your power bill.

Should I repair or replace my air conditioner?

It depends on age, refrigerant type and the cost of the repair. As a rule, if the system is past twelve to fifteen years, uses R-22, and the repair is a significant fraction of a new system, replacement is the better spend. We will show you both numbers and let you choose.

Do you service all brands?

Yes. We repair and maintain the equipment already in your home regardless of who made it or who installed it.

How long does a new system installation take?

A straightforward changeout is typically one day. If ductwork, electrical or line-set changes are needed, we tell you that in the quote rather than discovering it on the day.

Do you handle AC emergencies after hours?

Yes, we offer 24/7 emergency service. If you have no cooling in dangerous heat, or a vulnerable family member at home, call us and we will respond.
