Greensboro plumbing and HVAC, from a family firm

Greensboro has some of the finest older housing stock in the Piedmont, and older housing needs a contractor who is not surprised by what is behind the wall. We have been working these neighborhoods for decades.

Fisher Park, Irving Park and the problem with 1920s plumbing

The character that makes Fisher Park, Sunset Hills, College Hill and Lindley Park desirable is the same character that generates our service calls. Houses built in the 1910s through the 1930s were plumbed in galvanized steel and drained through cast iron, and both have a finite life that has now been exceeded. What owners notice first is pressure, discoloured hot water, or a drain that will not stay clear.

Irving Park brings a different set of jobs. Larger homes, longer pipe runs, multiple zones, and frequently a boiler feeding cast-iron radiators that a previous owner was told to replace. Often it does not need replacing — it needs a circulator, a bleed, or a control that has drifted. We will tell you which.

Then there is the rental belt around UNCG and A&T, where the work is fast turnover: failed water heaters, seized shutoffs, blocked kitchen lines, and repairs that need to be finished between tenants rather than scheduled at leisure. We do a lot of that, and we are used to the deadlines.

The three calls we get most in Greensboro

Greensboro work skews old-house work, and it shows in what people ring us about:

Repiping older homes

Galvanized and polybutylene replaced with modern pipe, planned to keep wall and ceiling openings to a minimum.

Plumbing →
Boiler and radiator repair

A specialty fewer companies still keep. Cold radiators, banging pipes and circulator faults on hot-water systems.

Heating & Boilers →
Roots in the sewer line

Mature trees on older streets find cracked clay and cast-iron joints. We camera the line before recommending anything.

Drain & Sewer →

Greensboro questions

Do you repipe houses in the historic districts?

Regularly. The priority in a Fisher Park or College Hill house is getting modern pipe in with the fewest openings possible, and repairing finishes properly afterwards. We plan the route before we open anything.

My radiators are cold upstairs. Is the boiler finished?

Usually not. Uneven radiator heat is far more often trapped air, a failing circulator pump, or a balance problem than a dead boiler. We diagnose before quoting, because a repair here is frequently a fraction of a replacement.

Can you get to Greensboro same day?

Most days, yes. We are twenty minutes away in High Point, and we run emergency calls in Greensboro around the clock.
